Looking at potentially picking up a partially completed T40AS (trycycle gear, bubble canopy Turner)....

Anyone here ever dealt with this model of aircraft? Esp construction....

Further, how much more difficult is it to build a plane from wood vs sheet metal or all-glass?

I'm an airframe mechanic for the Army, so I've done sheet metal & fiberglass work before...
But we obviously don't use wood structure in our birds.... Any tips/comments?

The bird I'm looking at has the body done, but would need the wings built (I don't know if they're wood structure, glass covered, or wood structure, plywood covered)... How hard is it to make 'good' wings from wood?

Any other tips???

There are "ALOT" of good wood wings.....Tailwind cruises close to 200 mph...Wood wings...

My current project "Buttercup"  ( Tailwind cousin ) , is wood wing covered with Fabric  ( close to 150 cruise )

Sean Tucker....Airbatic guy......Wood wings on his Bi plane

All these planes have Chromoly steel Fuselages covered with Fabric
