Hey gang!
I'm getting ready to construct my tail feather
flying wires & I have a question.

How many bolts did you drill & put through
the bracket?

I'm sure that I have been told at the factory
to use at least two, but it seems to me that
four are required. Two through the bracket
& the bushing, & two through the stab halves
& the bushing, outboard.

It seems to me that if you don't use four bolts,
then the bracket is likely to pivot around the bolt
that mounts it to the fuse, thus changing it's
incidence, probably at an inopportune time.

Hard to explain... What did you guys & ladies do?

Pic's will help!

Thanks!

John

John,
If the pic below is where you are talking about, I wondered the same thing about the single bolt thru the square fuselage member.
It seems though, when the horiz' stabs' halves are attached (bolted to the black tube) and the black tube is riveted to the attach brkt, that it would be very difficult for the attach brkt to rotate.
It's covered with fabric now, but I dont think it's going anywhere.

Wes,
You answered my question, except you accomplished
it with 2 bolts & 2 rivets, which makes more sense than
4 bolts.

I'm plannig a Saturday trip down to the factory
soon, & I'll clarify it then...

Thanks Wes!

you set your incidence before you drill your stabilzer holes and after that it would have to bend the bolts  or oblong the holes to change it.
