Howdy to all.
I'm another Saskatchewinian, getting started on a Preceptor N3 Pup. I have an 084 Continental engine back from the rebuilders and next job is building my welding table. Trying to get a dead straight table is getting harder with the lousy wood you get these days so I am thinking of trying metal studs as the frame. Wood is fine for the legs. Metal studs are pricey and since they are not 8 feet long, the 3/4 ply top will overhang the frame a bit. That could be all right, it makes a good place to attach a wood vice or dremel tool hanger. Any hints from you tube and rag guys on a good table design?
