What are folks using to seal the windshield/skylight and how has it been working? What spacing have you been using between the bolts/rivets? I'd like to be able to remove the boot cowl if absolutely necessary (with effort) - anyone else?
can't believe I'm to this point!

Kevin,
I spaced the rivets at 4" around the bootcowl/windscreen join and across the top of the windscreen on the butt rib. seems to be ok.
I opted for the large head aluminum rivets that I used on the fabric and doors. They can be drilled out and replaced as quickly as you can put in a bolt and thread/tighten a nut on it. Less weight to boot. make sure to use the rivet washers on the windscreen to bootcowl and on the windscreen to the butt rib.
I put a pretty generous bead of silicone on the boot cowl side and then let it squish out and seal the gap. It has not leaked, but then it has not been out in the rain yet. I would put masking tape on the windscreen when you are at the drill and cleco part of the fit, then if silicone oozes out on the windscreen, it will be on the tape and pulled away.

I put stainless steel nuts/bolts and attached the boot cowling that way. After several hours flying and everything checked out I took it off and added silicone then reinstalled. Now I am having problems with one strobe...might need to take it all off again. :?
