:?:
Ok, curiosity has got me.  I have seen that the ELT and Battery location is far in the tail section.  And, that the interior compartment/baggage area is riveted down. Hmmmmmmmm... so how do you access the ELT/Battery after you complete the plane?

For what it is worth, here's how I did that:

The ELT can be serviced/accessed throught the triangular access panel just in front of the tailwheel.  In this picture you can see my mount/antenna and the triangular access area with tabs - panel cover is not there yet.

For the battery I chose to make a battery access door in the rear baggage area bulkhead.  The cover is held in place with clip on nut plates.

Happy building,

Kevin

Thanks so much Kevin.  The battery idea is a good one.  I will either do that or I may end up doing a battery box in the baggage compartment off to the side made out of fiberglass.  So how do you plan on doing an access panel on the bottom.  Just not cover it in fabric?  Cover it in tin?  I have also mounted my ELT at the same location already.
Thanks again for your help!

It is possible that the kits have changed, but I have an aluminum panel and 3 tabs to attach it to.  Here are some pix:

Thanks again.  That sounds workable.  You have some great pictures Kevin of you building the plane.  My starting up pictures are still in the digital camera
This work thing is getting in the way of my fun!
