Hey Guys,
I've got things "preped" to take to work....
I'll use the Brake and the Shear to get good cuts and bends....

The sheet of  .071 , was only half (less) used... But the 36" was needed to do that....
( They don't sell  9" x 36" )

Hi Sean,
Yeah, it's moving along....Nothin TOO fast , but makin progress....
I'll probably have to ask you for more "Picture MB" before the project is over....

I tend to show alot of detail .....(Good for builders....Bad for byte space...)

Hey Guys,
I sheared some of the Stainless Steel today...
I need 4 pieces of trailing edge material at 8' long ....

From there , I'll cut two of them to size for the Wing Tips & the Ailerons...

The Flaps will use the 8' pieces ( just shy of 8' )

I couldn't find a "Size" for the trailing edge.... So , I looked at my "tape" , and said that's about right....

So, I sheared my pieces at 3 1/8" wide....That's a  1  1/4" wide trailing edge w/ 5/16 bend each side....
 ( See picture )

The 5/16 bend REALLY put some strenght to the piece....otherwise it would probably tend to sag in the middle
between where it's welded to the tubing...

The pieces need to be "Closed" a little more....Once I know how much I need , it'll be easy...

The parts are sitting on the 24 gauge material.... see how "flimsy" the stuff is...

                                      Gotta Fly...

PS  I cut one extra piece....just in case I need it

I got my "Piper Channel" made today....

I made a few extra.... I think there might be a few needed in the Fuselage.... Not sure

Anywho ,  I made 16 .... I still have plenty of steel left if I need some more.

I put a penny in the one picture , to give it something to compare to...

I Think I have "gathered" all the parts I need to start "Building" this next stage....

Here's my Lift Strut Brackets....

I'm going to wait on putting the Pipe "Stubs" on them until their mounted on the spars...

Then I can get them aligned better .

Hey Guys,
I was making the front & rear Spar Connectors.... When I realized the part
that gets welded between the two , were bent to the wrong size....

I was able to salvage two ( from Test Bends ) , So I finished the
Front Spar Connectors...

Hey Guys,
I'm working on the Wing Tips...
I've got the Spar caps fitting nice and snug...

Next step was to weld the 1 1/4" tubes onto the Spar caps ....and out to a point where the tubes meet...

In order to locate that "Point"..... I've been working on rolling the 3/8" - .035 Tubing

that is for the  "Tip" of the wing tip....

Once I locate the "Tip" out in space....I can put the 1 1/4"  Tubes where they go...

Anywho,
Bending the Piper Channel  radius for the false ribs wasn't easy....

My first attempt was junk....Too Lumpy...

So I made a small "Roller" at work.... for the wheels , I used Bearings

It seems to work very good...

   Here's some Pictures...

Hey Guys,
I welded the "Tips" together , and I have set it up ( Crude ) to see aprox where it will
be....
I'll find a better way to hold it exactly before I cut and weld the 1 1/4" tubes....

The board that I'm holding it with is warped a little...not good

Here's some pictures...

Well,
I don't know why this Ribs were to be made like this.... I got to the point where I had to
cut some wood, Epoxy it and I put a screw in it to hold it.... Then after it dried...I shaped it...
Seems like it would have been stronger if it had been sandwiched with the plywood when the rib was made...
For some reason...That area was vague...
.
.
.
I'm still looking at where to put the bolt hole in the Spar caps.... To keep building
on the wing tip....I put a hole in the spar caps and a screw  to keep them snug to the rib....
.

Here's more Pictures...
