Re: Oshkosh 2018 Roll Call

Arrived at Oshkosh, I got my plane tied down at a Better Aircraft Fabric’s Booth #300, right outside from Aircraft Spruce. I’m one tired ... I doubt I would be finished. Here are a few pictures at Oshkosh. Crud I just got an e-mail from Lars G. I need to move the plane one booth over.

Re: Titanium Firewall

... during installation. I don't notice any flexing or oil canning, it just lays there nice and flat. The .020 thickness is fine. As I said in the earlier post, they go as thin as .018 in certified aircraft but I don't know if that would save much weight over the .020. I'd defiantly ...

Re: Lift rings

When I was recently at the Just factory, I saw a SuperSTOL that had web straps attached to the front and rear spar ... and that is what they were for. Seemed like a really cool idea, they remain on the aircraft full time and are up and out of the way. I did not take any pics (kicking myself), ...

Re: Wild West Aircraft

Back when I had my Superstol I was extremely disappointed with it until I squared off that curved area in front of the flaps. It just always really bothered me how it felt like it was dragging its tail through the air all the time. Like it never quite wanted to get up on the step. Every ...

Re: Wild West Aircraft

Just blasted through the hundreds of photos I have on my compute. Clearly one thing I was confused about was the false spar. While going through the SS photos, I found that I thought the false spar on the SS wing was curved ...

Re: Just 103

It also appears that the fuel tank is in the wing. This is fantastic compared to other 103 aircraft! My guess is to be legal, you won't be able to use full throttle is cruise. (Yeah right).

Re: Wild West Aircraft

... yes they work much much better than the stock Highlander ailerons. The ailerons were one thing that I actually did like about the Superstol. We just recently completed a builder assist with a guy on a new Highlander built like my Highlander and he was telling me yesterday it’s not even like ...

... be a worth wile modification to the Highlander. Of course your ailerons should already be more effective with your wider wings than the stock wing just from the increased moment arm. Just curious. You haven't commented yet. Thanks. Joe B
