Howdy y'all from Texas

I've just become the owner of a Kolb FireStar and would like to know if I'm the only guy that 1) ... the flying game...but it has been a long time since I flew a Teratorn and a HummingBird; aircraft that preceded the Kolb and were actually much lighter. I've read the literature suggesting ...

Re: SuperSTOL Kit Approval Letter

The FAA actually has a list if you search for the nket list. The full Just Aircraft line is listed.

https://www.faa.gov/aircraft/gen_av/ultralights/amateur_built/kits/nket_list/

And the letters are on there for each kit.

Re: Molded Windshield

The polycarbonate windshield material supplied with my kit is .060. My kit was produced in 2011 so Just Aircraft may have changed the thickness for newer kits.

Re: Subkits for Just Aircraft?

Received a reply. They prefer to sell them as a complete kit. Makes sense. Thanks for the input. I have some more questions but I'll start a new thread.

Re: Subkits for Just Aircraft?

The “kits” in that list I do not believe are a breakout of individual sub-kits. I’m not sure why they worded it that way, but the control kit and finish kit do not really contain much based on those descriptions (from a monetary standpoint, they do signify a significant amount of the build). I coul...

Re: Subkits for Just Aircraft?

... assuming a Highlander, not SS, I’m not sure how that plays out on the SS). The wings are pretty simple, and the fuselage isn’t too hard either, it just has ALL of the systems to figure out (engine, electrical, fuel, instruments, etc.).

Re: InsuN10rance company requirements during test flight pro

I just got quoted annual premium of $4384 for my new Highlander with Yamaha Apex through Northwest Insurance Group, Inc.

During flight testing period, they only cover 10% insured hull value. I am a low hour pilot 300 hours TT and 17 hours tailwheel.
