Re: Low oil and CHT temps

Hi Jack,
Great results with the Thermostasis unit.
I have the 190 degree one and it works great in the spring and fall. I hope to try ski flying next winter, but for now, I wear the skis in winter.

Re: Low oil and CHT temps

I finally installed a Thermostasis unit on my Highlander. At first I wasn't keen on the additional points of failure in the lubrication system but now that the North American Rotax engine distributors are supporting, selling and using ...

Re: Low oil and CHT temps

You may have seen this on a previous post but the Oil Thermostasis kit works really well for keeping the oil temps up. It also greatly reduces the warm up time (120 degrees) when it cold out.

Re: Reflections on the first flight of a Highlander

... this package, I just wanted to let you know that we offer it in two different configurations. The first is as a complete package with the Thermostasis unit. The second is the hoses and the fittings only. Some people have already purchased the Thermostasis, and so we offer it in both configurations. ...

Re: Reflections on the first flight of a Highlander

Barry,
Glad the install went well. You'll be able to tell when the Thermostasis unit opens at around 190 degrees, the oil temp will drop a little and then pick back up as it controls the oil flow to the cooler.

Re: Reflections on the first flight of a Highlander

Spent today installing the Thermostasis unit with custom Highlander hoses provided by Steve at Aircraft Specialty. I removed the two existing hoses (oil tank to oil cooler and oil cooler to oil pump) with the four hoses that connect to ...

Thermostasis

Barry, The kit came from Aircraft Specialty. I discussed the RV12 kit he had already been selling and asked if he could modify if for the Highlander. Steve sent me the fittings, I picked up some cheap hose to get the lengths needed for my installation. The cheap hoses and fitting were sent back, he ...

John or Dennis, I'm getting ready to order the Thermostasis from Spruce. Can you give me an idea of what type, diameter and length of hose I'm going to need? Any other misc parts needed that are not included? Can the existing oil hoses that came ...

Re: It's hot!!

Hello, We are using the ThermoStasis oil thermostat...no temp issues this summer in South Carolina. Could you bypass or remove your thermostat unit with short hoses and clamps and such to see if it is the culprit? Hope you find the solution. ...

Re: new highlander video

Excellent, the ThermoStasis unit on the oil line for temp looks like a good idea. If it fails, does it default to high or low oil temp?
