I would think if they are plastic the sun would make them become brittle and break. Better check on the material first. I plan to make them from soft aluminum used for siding trim and blend them in the painting in the color of the wing. Trying to figure a way to attach without glue to be removable.

Q:  Won't that "cheap plastic" not last long?

A:  Our plastic is General Electric UV stabilized Lexan, the same material used in skylights in desert homes.  It definitely isn't cheap and is very similar to materials already used in many aircraft windshields.  If left out in the baking sun for decades you would probably notice some aging (just like paint) and if that's your plan then we suggest you paint your VG's to match your aircraft.

Thanks, after I thought a while it came to me , could be Lexan.
