CERTIFIED
Well guys, I passed todays DAR inspection. It went extremely well and after a couple of hours he was on his way. I have been working my bottom off the last 3 days to get it ready for him and now I'm just coming down off the high of it all. It snowed this morning and we've been in the 30's - 40's in the evenings so it's been downright cold here to work on a plane! Glad to have my first inspection behind me and I'm now looking forward to the rest of the fun.
Thank you all for your support and guideance over the past 2 years of this project! I'm looking forward to meeting each of you in person down the road.

First Flight #121
YEEEEEEEEEEE HHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
N448PS took to the air today for the first time. She flew hands off. What a wonderful feeling to have it airborne! Here are a few shots to show off. No leaks, no issues to report. Wonderful flying plane. Looking forward to more days like today.

Another Highlander in The Air
Paul,
Wow, what a fine looking airplane, - that actually flies!
Nice going, now the trick is to find the time to fly!
Let us know how the numbers look when you get a chance to look at the gages.
Congrats'

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I'm still experiencing the flying "high" like I did back in June of 1985 on my first flight. Not only that, but I continue to be amazed at the great folks in aviation! I can hardly wait to explore the plane and meet up with you all!
Lynn, I'm tentatively planning for Sun-N-Fun in April as my first long X-C in the new plane. I'm hoping to get a few Kit Foxes and a couple of Highlanders from around me to all fly down together. We'd travel right down the East coast through the Smokies! I always wanted to fly down through there. Maybe you could shoot me some details about this place you mentioned earlier that you camp at.
Today it was a bit windy up here so I built an engine pre heater out of a small 1500 watt shop heater and some dryer ducting. A new friend from the airport let me use his yesterday and after 1/2hr, the engine was nice and toasty. Good for the first start when the engine sat for a week in the 20's and 30's. Cost in parts was $35 including the brand new heater from Lowes. Next thing this week is to attach some vortex generators.
Thanks,
Paul
