trim tab cable attachments on horizontal elevator?

Postby Dave Krall CFII SEL SES » Tue Jul 01, 2008 5:42 pm

We're trying to figure a good easy way to stabilize the trim tab cable as it passes under the horizontal stab. Must it be connected to that surface somehow? And some additional attachment  to give it enough slack to allow full up elevator of 30 degrees?
Thanks in advance.

Looks great Gary. The bracket just before the wire housing goes through the fuselage; can you tell us how it's attached and how you made it? Thanks again.

I put a clamp there ( took the rubber off) and used another cable clamp to hold the cable. Hope I said this right. I'll see you at Arlington and I'can show you .

And, as you can see, I welded a steel plate to balance the elevator
