Just to Sort Out....

Post by scubarider2 »

There are so many folks here....can we do a "raise your hand" count of who has there planes done and flying and who is still working on it?  Maybe a progress report for those still working.

count 1 for "done and flying"   :D

Could have flown this summer on wheels only but I wasn't interested in that.

I've just got the float legs to finish cutting, drilling & bolting on. No big deal, so hope to fly in Jan. off the water, BrrrrrrRRR.

Also replacing all standard stainless hose clamps now in place with double wire hose clamps in PAIRS for redundancy.

Well, mine has been flown 1.8 - but it's not flying now.  Does that count?

Hell yeah it counts! It's simply called getting it "dialed in". Get that hand up Kevin.   :)

So who's "In Progress" and how's it going?? Don't be shy...

Not started yet, waiting until I retire? Next year??
Getting all of the pieces together. Longer u/c legs arrived from Just last week, Engine (Rotec 2800) arrives this monday, awaiting engine mount and oil tank design from Rotec, prop ordered (76 x 52 ) arrives in New year. I'm getting restless.

#144 left the ground in August. I've got about 60 hours on it so far. I'm liking the plane more and more all the time!

I've been flying mine 3 1/2 years and have just about 1000 hours on it now. I'm very happy with it. It sure does what I want an airplane to do. :D

Great pic Alan!

#126 is still bound to the earth in Walhalla.
Fuse is ready to cover with all of the
mechanicals fitted.

I have started on the wings. I-beams in,
root ribs mounted, lift brackets riveted &
bonded. I will start mounting the trailing
edges after Christmas.

I just got my medical re-instated
after my surgery, so it's full speed
ahead, again.

Thanks everyone. Good thread, Dennis!

John
There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.
