Beggining to fly high

Post by Uwe Jens »

Hi Guys,
Today was an amazing day here in Ecuador, I started to test altitude flying with my Highlander, and he responds really good!! I tested the Hacman system for adjusting the EGT temps and it is very sensitive.  I can mantain the temps always on the range and the engine does not loose much of power.  I reached 15890 ft asl, I think it is enough for the first try!
Here are some pics and video on the landscape.
Regards,
Uwe/.
PS:  Lynn, you remember this altitude??

Uwe,
Great pics, never been that high in mine, wow!!!
Is the Hacman system something you added? I bought a Hacman system from Green Sky Adventure out of Florida for my previous airplane with a rotax 503 and it worked very well.  They also sell one for the 912 and I was wondering how that worked.  Did you get it from Green Sky Adventure?

Great pics, Uwe!

I would not have thought that these
birds could go anywhere near that high.

Thanks & be safe!

John
There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.

Hi guys,
Yes Steve, I bought the 912 HAC MAN system from Green Sky Adventures, I bought this system because the 912 carbs work Ok until 12000 feet ,afterwards the mixture is too rich and you loose  power.
The system works very good ,it is very sensitive, and you reach the desired temp.
regards Uwe/.
