Rough 2500 Rotax

Post by KevinC »

Finishing up 25 hr inspection today with carb sync.  One thing I haven't been able to get rid of - despite correcting other mistakes (carb sync, prop pitch out on two blades, idle mixture not set right   ) is a rough spot at ~2500 rpm.  Smooth idle at 18-2000 and smooth again at 4000-5400.  Any thoughts?

There's often a rough range due to prop/engine harmonics I think.
Some planes even placard it, like one of the Franklin 6 cylinder engines.
It's an RPM range that's just got to be avoided...

If your prop is out of balance, there might be a certain RPM where you feel it more. Just a thought.

If I had known I would live this long I would have taken better care of myself.
