Electronic/Wiring Components List?

Post by Johnny C! »

Hey Gang!,
I hope to start installing my Enigma & my
912 soon, so I would like to get an order
going for Spruce.
Can someone give a list of additional items
that I will need for this?  I'm thinking about
stuff like ground bus bars, wire, connectors,
starter relay? etc. It seems like most everything
for the avionics is included with the wire harness
that came from MGL, but I don't know about all
of the peripheral stuff. I want to keep my panel/
electrical system as simple as possible. Ignition,
strobes, landing lights, and master.
I am thinking about running the mags on separate
switches & the ignition switch on a momentary.

Thanks!

John
There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.

We just made small lists every day or two on an as needed basis and then went to the store. A box of small, assorted electrical connectors was used a lot.

Dave,
I just now saw your reply.
What kind of bits are you referring
to? And what stores did you buy them
from?
My Highlander is at the factory which
is an hour and 15 minute drive one way,
so I was trying to make the most of the
time there by ordering known parts
ahead of time. I only get to go there
on Saturdays, and an occasional day
off during the week.

Thanks for your response.

You know what I did was get the catalog for Aircraft Spruce and go through each page.  I then listed the needed items that I thought I would use.  I had one of the AS reps go through it with me as well.  Worked out very well.

Almost any auto parts chain store will have clear, compartmentalized boxes all in one of connectors and terminals, and they're cheap, so we just bought the whole collection for the project.
