PhotoShip One Video mount test
Lynn,
As you put your video on the forum I was editing mine. Here is the first real test run of my mount and system. I have it set up so it's hooked into my headset but I'm getting some annoying feedback thru it which I need to isolate. I think I could also use some stiffer shock mounts based on some of the wobble I get, but then again airspeed seems to affect that also...more testing . I'll post pictures of the entire setup next week, it's a kinda a wire nightmare due to the camera, mount and monitor controls. I'm keeping my eyes open for new wireless system that can do everything the wired system can.

Lynn, here are the details:
Sony HDR-HC9 Handycam, I used the Sony because it is the only handycam with a LanC plug for hardwired remote control of the camera, you can't use the infrared wireless that comes with the camera because you need to be standing in front of it
LanC controller - EBay $40
Auto Head rest Monitor - EBay $40-60
Servo City Controller - $80
LanC Extension cable to include a video feed, custom made by the techs at Xtreme Recall. $50
Aircraft Spruce P/N 13-01456, headset patch cord, for tying into the camera audio thru the headset - $35
Misc other stuff to hook it into the aircraft electrical, but I think that's where I might be getting some feed back to I'm going to try a stand alone battery for it next.
This is a fair weather system but then again that's when we do the most flying. I'm also trying to come up with some kind of light weight water proof cover. I'll send out pics of the system on the plane Monday.
Don't hesitate to call if you need more specifics 425.417.7943

I put 4lb lord mounts in the unit and I think I can see more vibration in the video then there was with the 2lb lord mounts. I did find out that the digital servos used to control the pan and tilt were putting noise into the system so now I'm replacing the servo control wiring with shield wire for the signal and see how that works.....DAMN MORE FLYING TIME

Home strip
My turn. First video with the same camera Lynn has, Contor HD. It's flying my Highlander in and out of our home strip, but it's not any competition for doing dead stick takeoffs in Idaho. About 5 minutes after I landed at the grass strip by the river at the end of the clip, a guy walked up, flipped out an ID and said "Hi, I'm from the FAA..." I didn't think my approach was *that* steep, do you??? He was pretty cool about it. Said he had a house right up on the hill and only wanted people to be "safe". I actually had the camera running the whole time which caught the audio of the conversation, but after listening to it I'm so blatantly kissing his butt that I decided that I wouldn't share
