Weight and Balance Results

Post by User GDS »

FYI, I had the Highlander weighed by an A&P and here is how it turned out:

Weighed with Full Oil, Full Coolant, No Useable Fuel

Left main: 324 lb, -8" ARM (Extreme Gear)

Right main: 320 lb, -8" ARM

Tailwheel: 70 lb, 164" ARM

Total Empty Weight: 714 lb

Empty CG = 8.86

The book says CG range is 9.0 to 15.5" aft of leading edge, so I should be good after adding fuel and 200lbs of pilot.

N485TM is a by-the-book Highlander, no modifications, powered by Rotax 912ULS. Extras include: Aluminum leading edge kit, Extreme Gear, Factory wingtips, Aveo Lights, Stewart Systems paint. Interior is bare bones fabric and aluminum sheet flooring. The Oddyssey PC680 battery is mounted under the right seat.

I was hoping for under 700 lbs, but I'm satisfied with this. Time to schedule the DAR.
