door instructions and pictures on Superstol
Would anyone have instructions on the superstol door assemble?
I only have a small paragraph that says how to mount the doors.
Need to know gap between frame, where to rivet, etc. Pictures would also be helpful .
Thanks! Oren

Re: door instructions and pictures on Superstol
I spaced the door with the thickness of three Popsicle sticks. The most important part is to drill the holes on the hinge so the door can be as far out as possible. So don't drill the hinge on Center line where it rivets to the fuse. If you don't it will pry on the lexan at the top when the door shuts. I used one stainless rivet and glued the door with hysol during assembly. I had to bend the intersection fittings to make the door fit perfectly. It took a bit of time, but I was able to get the door close to a perfect gap all around.

That is a question no builder should ever answer;-). Panel is ordered as well as the engine. I am thinking 2014, not sure which month though;-)orenjr wrote:Thanks! Troy

When people ask when it will be flying, just say "Friday..."

When I finished my RV I took the first flight on Friday the 13th. I couldn't work that out for the Highlander. The next is Friday, June 13th, 2014, a perfect day for a first flight.

I wonder what else we should have that the factory has not sent us? Very frustrating to hear this. So much I would like to say but I will keep to myself. I know many others feel the same.accent air wrote:no from factory

I feel the same!
What instructions, SB's, drawings, etc am I missing?
Are we supposed to call the factory every day to see what is available to make the build easier?

I too am biting my tongue. I feel a visit to the factory is necessary. I just don't think I can build an airplane over the phone.

If you don't have directions, you can't do it wrong. Don't know about the SS, but on my std HL I only have had use for the manual for some measurements and a few details. The rest is either self explanatory or "custom."

Re: door instructions and pictures on Superstol
I have built 3 other airplanes. If I did not call the factory many times and take pictures while at Oshkosh to figure it out. I could not have built it. The Superstol is substantially different. I pitty the people that do not read the forum and drill the horizontal stab wrong by not knowing the new angle as an example. The factory did not tell me.danerazz wrote:If you don't have directions, you can't do it wrong. Re: door instructions and pictures on Superstol
No offense to anyone. I'm not sure what the factory told you when you bought your kit, however, but mine was one of the first and they very clearly explained to me that there was no manual or written instructions but to take many pictures at the factory and airshows and if you have any questions to call the factory directly and they would happily answer them for you. Jack has gone out of his way to answer any questions and forward any information to me I've requested.
I have drawings for bell cranks and other assemblies if anyone needs a copy. This is a new aircraft design and was clearly sold as one to me. Agreed parts can be difficult but we were forewarned. Hopefully, we can all help each other through the process. I'm happy to help if you have any questions - either call or e-mail me.
