Rotax generator
Are you guys adding an external alternator to your rotax installation? In cruise the generator output is in the 15 amp range. If you draw more you can take out the stator. Even though I have such a simple panel, the draw keeps adding up. Not sure what the actual will be when it's done but I am cutting it pretty close right now.

Re: Rotax generator
Good to know. I really just wanted to know if anyone has had to install one. I know the total actual draw is usually much less than anticipated based on equipment specs. Based on all the responses, I take it no one is needing an external alternatororenjr wrote:Troy

I am hoping I don't need one. I will likely get everything running then see what the actuals end up. That will be a while yet though.
ThanKs for the option.

Troy, I have a 914 with electric prop and MGL panel with autopilot , 2 electric fuel pumps, cameras and recorder, lights , etc, etc, and use only the built in alternater. I wouldn't think you would haave a problem. R L Messenger
