Sheet metal screws vs clip nuts

Post by kenryan »

For fastening the floorboards and baggage back are the provided sheet metal screws adequate over the long term or might clip nuts be better?

The self tapping screws are adequate and convenient, but they are hard steel and really cut the aluminum flooring if you take them in and out much. Some of the holes in my front floor are about 25% oversize. I'm just letting them work away at the holes in the flooring until the fit is easy and then adding clip-on tinnermans as needed.
