The last couple flights I noticed that every so slight difference in sound. Even a little vibration. So, thought it was time to do a carb synch again and while I was at it go ahead and change the oil and do an overall engine check. So changed the oil. Started looking over the engine. Tightening this and that. Moved the number 1/3 carb and whoa.....the rubber boot came off on one side!
So took the carbs loose and pulled both boots. The one had let loose of the metal housing and was separated. DANG! Scary! Was flying low and slow over water etc....doing all the Highlander stuff and even buzzed the factory this way. So just ordered two flange assemblies. By the way EVERYTHING ROTAX is expensive! Bird grounded.
