Kitplanes artical Craig Catto

Post by MarkZ »

This Catto prop for the Highlander is interesting and I would canvas the operators out there as to their experience of different props. This airplane I'm flying has the Ivo 3 blade and seems to do a pretty good job but I'm interested in your thoughts on this.

I have a Catto prop and it's climb performance is awesome, but I am not in love with the cruise. Craig is working on five new versions and they are going to testing soon. IMO Craig builds the best quality prop on the market. Especially with the nickel plated leading edge.

I bought the 3 bladed IVO in flight adjustable 100HP version. While I was able to dial in a higher top speed the climb performance was not very good and I went back to the Kiev. Anybody want to buy an Ivo? :-)

I went with a 2 blade Ivo in hopes
of getting a better top end. Scott
has just done a few crow hops
down the runway so far, so I don't
yet know how fast the top end will
be.

How much do you want for your Ivo?

John
There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.
