Cutting Cables - Thread

Post by AV8R Paul »

I went to Rainbow Aviation for the Light Sport Repairman Training. Brian Carpenter, the instructor, had a really slick method for cutting Cables that eliminate the fraying. Brian calls it Twist Welding. I figured I’d pass it along. I have done it on small throttle cables but have not tried it on the large strut cables. Attached is a link for his video.

I really enjoy the Photos of how to, and I’m sure other builders will appreciate them as well. They help a lot when having problems figuring out how or what to do.

Enjoy
