Those of you that are flying your Super STOL what are you using for the identifier when you file a flight plan. The same identifier you use in your log book. I checked the FAA list of identifiers and did not find any Just aircraft listed.

Re: Aircraft identifier
Per FAA order DO 7360.1 dated 25 sept 2015, http://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/medi ... 360.1_.pdf (pages 1, 3, 4)
You should enter "ZZZZ" for flight plans if no designator is assigned (most experimentals). Technically it has to be entered as ZZZZ/L for light wake turbulence category, per page 4.
Used to be hxa, hxb, or hxc depending on aircraft speed (highlanders were in the hxa category), but the ZZZZ is in line with icao standards.

Re: Aircraft identifier
Dane,
Looks like the designator for the Highlander ARV1, page B99? I know I have been using RV10 for my other plane, ATC confirmed that is what they want me to use. The special equipment designation is getting a little more complicated with GNSS, ADSB out-in...1090MHz - 978MHz

Re: Aircraft identifier
HOWEVER!!!!
Just found on page B110,
A highlander is HIGH and an escapade is ESCP. Those would be appropriate for us, and I believe the SS is just a different model of the highlander (close enough for govt work until they come up with a specific identifier).
