I used 6-32 Rivnuts in all the 1/2" wide tabs without issue. They're nice because if you pull the threads out of one, you can drill it out and put another in. Make sure that you get the ones that have the knurled barrel or else they might turn. I got mine from McMaster. Part #94020A311

I finished wiring my airplane today with the exception of a few small things. The panel is done except for one instrument I'm waiting on from MGL. Tomorrow we should get the wings hung. The first airplane rolled out on the grass today and Rob started fabricating some brackets for trailering. It should be in the air soon, we're still waiting on the Feds for paperwork.

Jan 9 to March 7, just 2 days shy of 2 months. That has got to be a record build time. Congratulations. I’m looking forward to some Photos, and videos of the 1st Flight.

That is truly amazing!

I'll bet you will be needing to catch up on on your sleep, (not to mention the rest of your life) after working day and night on your Super STOL. I just hope you're not too tired to fly it

Congrats on accomplishing such a huge task in such a short time. You will love your new plane.

Look at a few of the previous post picture. Just getting through covering is surprising to me much less the beautiful black paint.

The wings are on! Yesterday I worked on the wing root rib and close out. Today I'll be working on either the cowl or the head rack pieces that support the windshield and some of those odds and ends. Still lots left to do

I cut my cowl and got it mostly fitted today. Still waiting on an oil cooler bracket so I'll wait to till that comes before I wrap up the fiberglass work. We rigged the wings for zero warp this evening. When I set my wings to the fuselage they were within 1/16 over 203 inches, I'm pretty happy with that. Tomorrow I'll fit my slats, ailerons and flaps. Can't wait to get my flaps on bearings, they're smooth like butter.

I installed my slats flaps and ailerons today. We folded the wings so we could get both airplanes in the hanger. Tomorrow I'll finish up the fuel lines and brake lines. Might get my wing tips and strobes on as well.

We've been super busy so I haven't had much time to post here lately. We're wrapping up two planes and trying to get ready to head north soon. Robs airplane is on a trailer and ready to test fly. I'm painting my cowl and installing my windshield in the next couple days then I'll be mostly caught up to him. The spring pollen has turned my airplane cub yellow. Looking forward to the test flying and drive north.

Paul, I'll be flying my time off down here before heading north.

I got my windshield installed today, it really looks more finished with that done. I also finishing painting the cowl. Tomorrow will be odds and ends, there's always plenty of those little things to wrap up. I built an airbag system to support the tail for trailering along with some support brackets for the folded wings and the forward spars. Hopefully my trailer is ready soon.

What sort of trailer will you be using?

I bought a 20' PJ buggy hauler like Robs. I'll probably sell it when I get to AK.
