If im not mistaken and I could be I think at the factory we use 1.6 deg. down so if you went up your a long way from us. It might be a good thing though I will check tomorrow. Jak

Thanks for the great info Ben. I'm glad to know someone had success with getting the SS to trim out better, as that just helps to make a great airplane even greater.

Joe,

Im working on a video of my progress, I have been tied up evenings the last few nights, and will be the next few. I will post it as soon as its finished. I did get some flying in on saturday, but sunday the wind was blowing about 20 straight across the runway. Im not ready for that yet... :)

What is it 1.8 Degrees Down or 1.8 Degrees Up?

Ben, no apologies needed. It's great that you are still posting here now that you are flying your bird. We loose a lot of guys once they get into the air. Those of us that are still waiting our chance to build our own Highlander/SS look forward to news on the forum. I'm hoping that the weather breaks early so i can get my Cub out of hibernation. I'm dying to get up in the air myself. Enjoy your flying and when you get a chance post some awesome video. Thanks. Joe B

Hey gang!

I finally got my video presentation uploaded on You Tube. This is my first attempt at video editing, so please judge accordingly...

I put this together for my local EAA chapter 129, to show at a meeting night. It has some clips that some of you have seen already.

For those of you still looking at it, I will get around to finishing my website updates, I have been busy with many projects that have taken my time. Two of which are flying my SuperSTOL, and building a fuel trailer to tend my airplane. Lugging fuel jugs stinks...

Enjoy.

Ben, Congratulations!!!! Looks great and flies great. How exciting it must be. BTW, the video was very well done. How do you feel about the angle of flight during cruise? Is it what you expected? Do you have any visibility issues over the nose in cruise? What kind of cruise speed are you getting? Can't wait to see it in person. Joe B

Congratulations on the first flight! It is a beautiful plane. Nice farm as well. I really liked seeing the air speeds, you can't pay as much attention to the when flying. again congratulations. I really like the checker board tail feathers.

Ben,
What a beautiful example of one of Just's airplanes! And a much belated Congrats on getting her finished and flying!
My only excuse is I've been off flying.
The little Highlander hasn't spent much time in the hangar this past year ;-)

I love the videos, good job! Especially like the fancy speed and heading overlay stuff!
That strip you are flying off of looks perfect!

Hope you can make it to Billy's this fall so I can see your airplane close up.

Ben,

Quite an accomplishment, considering that you started with a Highlander kit, and transformed it into a Super Stol. Making those modifications was a daunting task. . . And you performed admirably. Trailblazer.
Congratulations, you've earned it. Now go and enjoy it.
