From YouTube:

Robby Pedersen's best takeoff and landing from the 2016 Valdez Fly In. Flying a Just Aircraft SuperSTOL on new Ultralight Alaskan Bushwheels, Pedersen (no surprise here) took first place in the Light Sport Class

That landing is the equivalent to a hole in one on the golf course or a perfect game in th World Series.

Interestingly, that landing wasn't in the winning combination. Rob's first takeoff of 77' plus the 27' landing = 104'. His second attempt, while not as spectacular, was the winner: 54' takeoff + 49' landing = 103'.

Second place total was 144', and third place was 260'.

Here's a link to the results: http://www.valdezflyin.com/wp-content/u ... esults.pdf.

Hey guys and gals,

We put a camera on Robs strut for fun, we hadn't seen any video from a competitor yet so here it is. It's cool being able to see his feet while he's flying, gives you a bit of an idea of what the wind was doing. It was a lot of fun for sure and Robby did a great job!

That's impressive to put it mildly.

It speaks to the piloting skills
& Troy's designs.

Great job to both.

I'm lucky to be part of
this family.

Later!

There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.

Did everyone notice that the wingspan is 6 feet longer than normal?
