I’ve had mine mounted in several areas outside the plane. Most of the time It’s under the wing pointed forward and towards the fuselage. Inside the plane shooting straight through the windshield is also really cool. It does pick up oil and dirt when mounted anywhere under the fuselage. On the wing it stays clean unless you catch a bug.
The camera can be controlled remotely from a phone app or from the camera when mounted inside. The mount below is the one I use when mounted outside. Fits the GoPro and VIRB Ultra 30. The small aluminum billet can mount wherever there is a #6 screw (needs to be structural). The weldment near the rear strut brace has a tab that is used to connect the wings to the empennage when the wings are folded. Perfect spot for the billet to mount.
