Superstol in Northeast US

Post by EchoWhiskey »

I'm based at KVOR, any SS owners in New England? I'm about to put a deposit on a kit but would like to check one out first. I can fly to you.

If no one responds, you might want to consider a quick trip to the factory. You'll have the opportunity to ride in a couple of SS. Troy's Titan XL and Gary's regular 914. You'll also get a chance to meet everyone, check out the factory and any current builds going on there. You can do a quick turn around, I'm sure they'll accommodate your schedule.

Just a thought...

I’m from Texas. I would highly recommend taking a trip to Just Aircraft in Walhalla, South Carolina. It would benefit you to to meet Troy band Gary, And get a tour of the factory. The fuselage welding is done in a top quality fixture. Seeing other planes built and completed would be beneficial, because you would get some ideas about how you want to build it. Good luck

You'll learn an amazing amount if you can get to the Just-sponsored "Plane Fun Days" fly-in at the end of October (https://www.planefunaircraft.com/pfd-fly-in). There will be Highlanders and SuperSTOLs to look at and plenty of builders on hand who'll happily share their experiences. Factory aircraft will be there, and I'd bet you could get one or more demo flights.

If you fly commercially, you could rent a car at ATL, or notify Billy that you need transport from ATL to the fly-in and back.

You might be able to schedule your factory visit for the same trip. By car, the factory is about an hour and a half from the fly-in. By light plane, it's half that time, though the Just factory uphill strip isn't for the faint of heart (it's perfect for Highlanders and SuperSTOLs, though).

Was just about to buy airfare for Friday morning which would put me at plant midday and then learned they're closing at 12.

I'm surprised they aren't combining this event with a factory tour. Seems like a great way to drum up business

Hello, I just received my Super STOL kit. I live near Kcid ( North East Iowa)
Are there any SS builders or owners in this part of the world who wouldn’t mind
my looking at their airplanes? Thanks. Mark
