912 Mounting Bolt Torque

Post by jjacky »

Hi All...OK call me " parts per million" but I'm having a difficult time pinning down the torque to use on the 10 mm engine mounting bolts using the NORD locking washers. The Rotax installation manual says torque 10 mm bolts to 25.6 Ft lbs. NORD specs say that it should be 50 or 75 ft lbs, depending on where you look. I think I'm just going to torque them to 30 and safety wire them as others on this forum have done. Seems to me if we are suppose to build the airplane IAW factory instructions Torque numbers should be clearly written out. Also how much torque did you use on the rubber motor mounting bushings....Thanks!

OK I misspoke and I'm not the President of the United States. The bushings I'm referring to are actually the rubber Barry mounts. I went to their web site and got the torque spec for the 22001-13 (hard) mount and the "Max Torque is 30 ft lbs".
