I got a post on Facebook saying he was fine, along with his plane.

We had some road damage in North Kenai area, and got the stuffin shook out of us, but it wasnt as bad as what they saw in Anchorage. That city is built on jello, so when they get an earthquake that close, the liquifaction of the subsoil changes your outlook on life.
Aftershocks all night long.

Glad to hear you are okay Shawn. That's some scary stuff. None of that is going to "buff out", those roads will be out of commission for some time. Especially considering winter is upon you!

Didn't know what to expect when I opened the door to the shop.

Shawn,
Looking at the tubing hanging over the right wing things could have gotten expensive. I glad to hear you ok as well, hope everyone in you family is fine. I hope you have a back up generator, and a freezer full of beef, bear, moose, etc. It looks like your plane is coming along nicely.

Well thanks!!
But that is Ken’s
Mine is in that condition as well - but different place.

If mine was in Anchorage, like his, I might have had a coronary event.

How close are you Ken?

Sorry about that. However, I’m glad to hear you OK. Is Ken OK?
I wouldn’t have been in the soft soil around Anchorage.
From what my daughter tells me it would almost turn into a liquid in a really bad earthquake. She has a MS degree in Geology, so she knows a hell of a lot more about it than most.

Should finish up the windshield today (thank you Steve Dentz!). Next is the roof, then the doors, then re-mount the tail, then tidy up a few details. That should do it! I know it sounds like I'm close, but I'm not the fastest airplane builder so it will still be awhile.

Friday was an exciting day for sure. My airplane is in Big Lake ring side seats to that whole mess. Everything is fine though so I'm very grateful!
