Control stick position / length

Post by BDA »

Anyone have trouble pushing the stick all the way forward??

I am average height ( 5’10”) and with seat all the way forward, I can not push the stick all the way to the stop (with seat belt tight).

Anyone put an S curve in their stick?

Hahaha
Thanks
They really should have a list of updated items on the website!

How much is the offset?

I am a short man, 5’ 7’, I usually fly with my seat 1 both back, and when Chris Wallen & I built my plane I had my Control stick bent back so I could easily push forward and pick up the tail. My offset is about 2 to 3 inches. It works great. I can’t find a photo right now but I could go get a picture and post it later.

Here is a picture showing my offset, I would have like it to be a little more, but it works fine. I have no issues with full deflection.

Thanks Paul!
I forget, did you have your new seat cushion made thicker in the back?

Here is a pic of mine. Hard to tell from the pic but my offset is close to 3 inches.

Do these stick modifications hamper full back movement?

Shawn,
Did you use a tubing bender or some other method?

Yes
I used a tube bender for 7/8 OD mechanical tubing (powered). This stuff is really tough to bend.

Will check full travel later tonight.
