Post by Xengineguy »

What is everyone using for led strobes/ position lights. Are they approved for night operations?

I’m using Aveo Powerburst lights. Company says they are technically not for night use, but they also have said they meet the FAR lighting specs.

Like most stuf in E-AB, it doesn’t have to be “approved,” it just has to meet the specs.

I'm using the Kuntzleman Strobe/Position lights on the wing tips.

I used this little red strobe for a beacon light mounted on the turtle deck. I wired this one in with no switch, it is on anytime the master switch is on. Every plane I fly I leave the beacon switch in the ON position all the time in case I forget to turn off the master switch. I see no reason to install a switch that will never be used.

The strobe sequence on both of these lights are programmable. I'm very happy with both.
