Subkits for Just Aircraft?

Post by oz_p »

Hi,

I was wondering if Just Aircraft offered submits for their designs?

Thanks,

I’ve never heard of anybody doing that with a Highlander, but if you call the factory I’m sure they would be happy to advise.

The way the kits are, though, you would probably end up with two kits: wing, and fuselage. The QB wing is the deal of the century as it would cost you so much time and money to set a jig up it really isn’t worth NOT spending the money to have the factory do it (this is assuming a Highlander, not SS, I’m not sure how that plays out on the SS).

The wings are pretty simple, and the fuselage isn’t too hard either, it just has ALL of the systems to figure out (engine, electrical, fuel, instruments, etc.).

Reason I asked is I did find one older reference: viewtopic.php?f=218&t=18589&hilit=Subkit

Subkit is mentioned in the thread and there seems to be 4 kits here. But it’s also a very old post.

The “kits” in that list I do not believe are a breakout of individual sub-kits. I’m not sure why they worded it that way, but the control kit and finish kit do not really contain much based on those descriptions (from a monetary standpoint, they do signify a significant amount of the build). I could be wrong, but a quick call to the factory will answer.

I tried. They have adjusted operations due to COVID so I sent an email. I’ll wait a bit and reach out again if I don’t hear anything but I suspect that you are correct.

Call Monday through Thursday, before 4pm. That's when it's easiest to get someone.

Received a reply. They prefer to sell them as a complete kit. Makes sense. Thanks for the input. I have some more questions but I'll start a new thread.
