Trailing Edge Rivets

Post by utpa001 »

Hi All,
I was putting the trailing edge on the wing, and realized that the manual says 1/8" rivets, but 3/32" are provided.  I'm thinking with the hysol and fabric over this, it shouldn't need the bigger rivets.  What did the rest of you do?
Thanks!

I used the 3/32" countersunk rivets.  I did not put the rivets into the rib web like the manual says.  I put them off to the side of the web in the cap strip.

I did the countersinking different.  I drilled the cap strips and countersunk the capstrip, then put a dimple in the trailing edge material.  This made a nice smooth finish, and the trailing edge snaps into place for riveting.  It is hard to see the holes when they are slathered with epoxy.  I used the same process on the aileron and flap trailing edges.
