I'm looking at the 3 in one housing units to eliminate wiring back to the vertical fin. They say remote power source (is this the engine alternator and battery?) or local power source. I'm wondering which type I should order.

These 2 here are what I found so far, pretty cool it seems:

Strobes, etc.

Dave,

FWIW check out the Rio Creek Escapade build - they have some info on putting the aeroflash units in the wing tip.  http://www.riocreekairport.com/escapade11.htm

Also FWIW, I used Kuntzelman combo strobes and am mounting the power supply under the passenger seat.  http://www.kestrobes.com/ddm_models.html

I'm going with the Skybright unit.  I have heard nothing but good things about their combo units.  Also, they are led based and have some pretty cool patterns.  Just wingtip units that have the navs combined with the strobes.  My .02

So would that be what's called the REMOTE POWER SUPPLY or LOCAL, Kevin?
Thanks!

You know, I don't really know.  I guess I'd call them local as they are close to the bus bar.

I ordered a set of them too, with cables. They look very durable with that minidome coverage over all the lights. Thanks
