I beams in,,,yippie

Post by scubarider »

Wow, after much work on the prep side to put in the "I" beams the first three went in without a hitch.  But the fourth and final...
After 3 hours of trying, resanding/MEK/WD-40, finally got a friend with a much LARGER sander...two more passes and yippie...all "I" beams in.
Just thought you might want to know.

That's cool.
The ice for the beams and mild heating of the spar tubes helped us a lot and they could be tapped right in.

strut braces

Post by scubarider »

Got the strut braces on.  Man what a mess that was.  Recommend loads of gloves, MEK and time.  All done though!

No doubt about the mess.
We upgraded to Cherry Max solid rivets for the I-beam penetrations, the rest are standard pop rivets.
