Kevin,

I see a 3rd bar in the middle of your windscreen.  What is its purpose?  Just curious.

The middle bar

I put a strip of 3/4 aluminum from the boot cowl to the headrack cover to 1) support the windshield and keep it from bowing in in flight and 2) mount the compass.  It has a layer of velcro 'fuzz' on the window side to keep it from chattering.

Both may have been bad ideas - stay tuned.....

Well, as of 1203 PDT N509KC is officially a federally recognized aircraft and the paperwork necessary for flight (did you know these things fall out of the air without it!!?) is signed and completed.  What an interesting 877 days it has been.

Now I have to figure out how to fly it....

Kudos to you Kevin. Let us know how the extra bar for the windshield works.
