would it be possible to mount an airplane engine in a car as its engine?

Aircraft engines are really not usually suitable for cars, most are air cooled so proper airflow is critical; they are not designed for the constant rpm and load changes imposed by stop and go driving, the list goes on...

That said there are two automotive engines that are regularly converted for aircraft use.  The Corvair and VW type 4 engines.  Both of these engines are horizontally opposed and air cooled with a aluminum block.  Look at http://www.flycorvair.com/ and http://www.greatplainsas.com/

It would also not be very fuel efficient to drive with an aircraft engine in most cases ... As already said the load characteristics, cooling but even fuel availability could become serious problems.

i dont think so that it would be possible any way just because the body of the car cant carry the weight of that engine and yes it would not be fuel efficient
