Leading Edge

In the Acro Sport 2 the leading edge of the ailerons consist of a full span half-round (sort of) at the nose of the ribs with the entire forward part of the aileron covered in 1/16" plywood. How do you make a piece 44" long and conforming to a sort of half-round profile? Should I make a template and slide it along the piece to check it's conformity?
