Wing Rack on wheels

Post by planecrazzzy »

I have seen a lot of wing storage racks ...
I didn't like the looks of "storing" some of the creations after the wings were on the plane .
Some of that stuff was as big as a piano .
.
I had an old busted furniture moving cart ,
I patched it while fabricating a tube frame ...Hmmmm , done

Oh, I screwed on a couple of dowels , and put some duct tape to protect the wings from hanger rash
.
I have had TWO sets of wings on it AT THE SAME TIME .
Yet, when it sits alone ...well, it's a furniture mover size , and rolls out of the way.
In this picture , both "SETS" were on the wing rack , which also was storing a lexan sheet
and still rolled around .

The Wings are Kolb Firestar II and a Wittman Buttercup

I'll find better pictures

More crowded pictures ....
With the wings on wheels .
I can move them close to something to get more room.

I still use this cart...

It still looks just as crappy ,
Still does a great job of holding my wings without damaging them
Rolls right up to the spot where you have the wing....rolls it away
It's easy to throw a couple of things on it while it isn't holding Wings.

Gotta Fly...

Still looking for more pix
In the picture just below.... Both "SETS" of wings are on the Wing Rack.
The Kolb FireStar II wings are on the inside with the leading edge pointed down,
The Buttercup wings are outside with the leading edge pointed up.
You can only get a small glimpse.

Can your wing rack do this ?
Since I know the wings aren't coming down before spring ...
I needed a place to store some of the Biochar I'm making .
nice that it will roll out of the way when I need it to.
