I am installing an older Narco AT50A transponder with a Narco AR850 encoder. I have all the manuals and everything is clear except.... Pin 18 of the transponder shows a wire going to "digitizer power" (maybe backup power?). However the encoder clearly says that power should originate from the avionics bus and not switched power from the transponder. The specific diagrams that show the hookup between theses 2 units does not show the pin 18 connection.
Question...What do I do ,or not do , with that old pin 18 red wire? Anyone familiar with this installation?
