Sensenich Prop

Postby scubarider » Fri Sep 28, 2007 11:51 am

Anybody heard any pros/cons on the new Sensenich composite prop?  I may be going with it, the 70" ground adjustable model.  They also have a 9" spinner precut and ready to install except paint.
Cost of the prop is $1,525 and the spinner is $165.  Pricey

I want to see how they stand up for a few years first and see what the total weight is.
In the meantime, my adjustable Warpdrive should be here any day and they have a good reputation for ruggedness on water/gravel for about $1K.

For what it's worth, Jack at Cornell Aero (a distributor/builder) says that the ivo medium out pulls the sensenich ground adjustable.  He has done static testing between some of the props.  He now uses the IVo.

I guess he should know.

I am using the warp drive, standard blade, 3 blade.  Not the fastest, but it is a nice prop and works gooood.  I know that because takeoffs still equal landings.

I've got a new 3 blade Ivo medium adjustable sitting in the hangar but the adjustable Warpdrive is supposed to be a little more rugged, so I'm waiting for it.

I went back to Cornell to visit and fly with Jack(whom I ended up buying my kit from), great guy and very knowledgable.  I know he went to the medium IVO for three reasons, price, ease of adjustability he said it out pulled the Sensenich.  I did ask him if he tested any other props and he said he didn't which I can understand because that could get quite expensive. I'm considering the Warp, Sensenich and the KievProp.  I've talked to one guy who's had experience with all the above props and hands down he would use nothing but Kiev. He claims it's also Troys choice of prop for the 912S highlander.  Has anyone had experience with the KievProp?

Have not put any money down yet on the prop.  Still waiting for all your input.  Thanks and keep it coming.

What engine did Jack test these props on?

I was leaning toward the Sensinich GA,
based on Troy & Jamie's suggestions,
but I haven't bought anything yet.

Thanks!

John
There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.

Jack tested the two props on the 912S without the airbox.
