Flap/Aileron bellcrank bushings

Post by Dave Krall CFII SEL SES »

Flap/Aileron bellcrank bushings:
Wouldn't it be better to install bushings in both hinge plates to protect the Al from bolt wear, in addition to the 1/4 inch ones supplied that only protect the bellcranks' holes?

Aileron/Flap Hinge Bracket Bushings

Post by Wes »

Dave,
I have only temporarily installed these hinge brackets, but I think the design is for the bolt to clamp the bushing between the two hinge plates and the bushing would then rotate in the steel bellcranks. i.e. no rotation between the bolt and bushing.

Advice from a guy who has not actually bolted these things together for good.

I'm trying to get the fuselage finished up before starting on the wings (mainly cause I don't have room in the trailer to do both).

Good Luck,

Wes
