Flying Wire Guide Tubes...

Post by Johnny C! »

What did you guys & ladies use to
open up the pass through tubes. I
broke a drill bit on the first one.

Please let me know!

Merry Christmas!

There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.

bits

I used a long drill bit for the openings and then used a file and whatever else I could find.   :o
Was pretty tough.  I broke and dulled many a bit in this process.

Little round files in Dremel plus drill bits.

If you're talking about the guides for the rudder pedal cables down the baggage compartment then I used reamer bits.  They were expensive but worth it in the long run.

Thanks guys.

I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed
some neat trick. If you all had trouble with
them, then I guess it's OK for me too!

Merry Christmas!

Hey,
I finished the rest of the holes with the
broken drill bit. I figured it was toast,
so I had nothing to lose.

See Ya!
