Thought I would send a couple pics this way on the finished panel and the windshield I just put on today.

Really beautiful, Dennis.  I hope you have lots of pix of the windshield - that looks complicated.

air vents

Post by scubarider »

Steve, the air vents I got from Aircraft Spruce.  They are the turning adjustable kind.  Love them.  Just got to be careful putting them in.  I really went too tight on the first one and caused some cracking.  The only real blemish {you can see} on the plane at this time.   :?
Kevin, was really not too bad.  Just took several days of cutting fitting and trimming some more.  Really helps if you have two people doing it also.  Remember to cleco cleco cleco....

Looking greater all the time, cool!

I searched Aircraft Spruce under 'air vents' and couldn't find ones like yours, do they have another name?
About how much $?
Thanks.

Thanks, I found & ordered a pair of them that way.
I think Aircraft Spruce might benefit from a better search engine from what I've repeatedly seen.

Dennis, I'm curious about the forward edge line on the Lexan that shows in your PIX above.
It looks like you did some fancy cutting there but can't see it quite well enough.

Hey Dave, just got back from the hangar to get my AS book.  yep, vista vents....
I agree with you on the search engine for them,,,pretty bad.  The catalog is good though.
Dave, not sure what you are talking about on the lexan cuts.   Could just be the pic.  It is just a straight piece laid across the top then cut at the wings then down the front to a round off cut for the cowling.  Could be that the cross metal piece is just a little low so the rivets pull down the lexan at each one.  I caught it in the right light to highlight it  :?
Man,,,,really cold here today, teens with a 20-30 mile an hour wind....brrrrrrrrrrrr
