This came up on another forum last year, it got poo poo'ed for bad drive design and suspect cooling issues. This was only peoples opinion though based on study of available info!

The only cooling issues we have had is getting it warm enough.
We have had no problem keeping them cool.
As for the drive the first one we did now has over 200 hours on it with no problems.
If your not going to try, then whats the point of talking about it?

Brett
Are you the manafacturer of this set-up?
If so how about a detailed report on various forums?

Yes that would be me. I could do that. What other forums did you have in mind?

Hi Brett,
Here would be a start, also: http//www.homebuiltairplanes.com/forums/
http://www.pfa.org.uk/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
There are plenty of other places listed on the Homebuilt website.
How about EAA pages, lots of scope there.
I wish you the best of luck with the project.
Cheers,

I was looking at the dyno charts on your web page. I'm sure these are crank HP/TQ numbers but they are impressive.

I was wondering what has been changed on the engine for aircraft use. Heads, Carb, Ignition, Cams, Aircleaner? I looks like a nice flat torque curve for a twincam. This can't be a "drag" type exhaust. Can it?

Yes these are crank HP #'s.
We change them all except the heads. If we change the heads then we can get more out of it. But most people don't want to spend the extra money. On my plane I have a stright pipe " drag style" exhaust. We can get about 8 more hp. if we use a 2 into 1 exhaust. But I wanted the sound for fly overs and shows etc.
