Lexan turtle deck
Ok, call me crazy - but I kind of like the look of a Lexan turtle deck so I'd like to have both.
Anyone know what thickness has been used? Any suggestions for bending? Other info?
thanks

Kevin,
I think Just used 1/8" thick when they supplied
them that way. It's the only part I haven't gotten
from them yet, but it will be a while before I need
it. If you are going to make your own, take a look
at the one on Gary's Highlander. It has strakes that
line up with the upper edge of the flaps. I want the
Lexan version for better visibilty & for more light
in the baggage area.
I may have some pic's of Gary's, so I'll send them
to you if I do.
Later!

There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.
I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.

I can't find a pic of Gary's turtledeck, but
I'll see if I can get one this weekend.

Turtle Deck Pics
Here are a couple I took of Gary's Highlander at Sebring Sport Expo in Jan, 2006.
The Lexan is tinted. Kinda cool!

I don't think that's the one I saw.
It was a flat piece of Lexan that went from Flap
to Flap. Then it had 2 flanges riveted to it that
were formed to mate up with the fastener flanges.
It was just as functional with some added points
for the gap filling at the end of the flaps. It supoose
it wouldn't be difficult to add some filler pieces to
match the shape of the flap.
