Impact of ethanol on Just Aircraft Fuel Tanks

Post by justaircraft »

The material used in Just Aircraft fuel tanks is a glass reinforced Isopthalic resin. This resin has passed UL1316 which subjected the material to :

  100% ethanol @ 100 degrees F for the equivalent of 270 days.

This material is currently approved through out the country for underground fuel storage tanks by the standard bureaus of many states.

Excellant, Harry.

Thanks for the data.

John
There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.

Thanks Harry, that is excellent news.  Can you tell me how long the tanks have been made with this material?  That is for those of us who bought tanks a few years back.  I believe my tanks are fine but it would be nice to know for sure.
Thanks again,
Dennis
