Continental 0200 Update

Post by cutoff1 »

Here are a few pictures of our finished installation of the 0200. We have done a test run and all the systems seem to be working well.

Cool looking engine, very clean and well organized.  You might want to take a look at the table and shelves behind the engine....
Just kidding....

Looks great! I am really looking forward to the weight and balance numbers and how fast it will takeoff.

Looks Great Bob!

Where did you get the engine mount?

There are many things that happen really fast when you are
flying an airplane. There is no sense in rushing any of the others.

I would much rather be looking down at the runway, than up at it.

Engine mount for 0200

Post by cutoff1 »

Our engine mount was custom fabricated by a local craftsman. We have been blessed in having the skilled help we have had in building this plane: Mickey Wittenberg - he has built a number of planes of his own design; Joe Sanders - a retired master mechanic and power company executive; Tim Chapin - a retired mechanic and technician with electrical and electronics experience. I couldn't have done it nearly as well or as fast without them.

Bob,
I would also assume that will need to at least
modify the cowl, if not make a complete new one.

Correct?

I will call you soon.

The nose bowl was ordered from Spruce, and the fiberglass in front of the windshield came from Just Aircraft, but we fabricated the rest of the cowl.

Below is the finished plane. It only needs some minor adjustments before we take it out for taxiing. The final weight is 760 pounds.
